How CNN is killing professional journalism.
And why it kills my chance of getting a job.

If all you have to do to be an unpaid journalist or photojournalist or videographer is click here to learn, then why did I spend four years at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University earning a bachelor's degree in communications (specifically: photography)?

Not only does this practice have to stop, but people need to start asking for financial compensation for their work. Because they ("the iReporters") are happy with a by-line and their clip (and a fraction of their 15 minutes of fame on CNN's broadcast), they are demeaning those of us who have spent years in the field, honing our craft.

This practice must stop, and it must stop NOW!
