Jolt, an early player in the energy drink movement (“All the sugar, twice the caffeine”) which now includes big names like Red Bull, Rockstar and 5-Hour Energy, is looking for a buyer after its parent company, Wet Planet Beverages, filed for bankruptcy last fall. The company is in the process of boosting its marketing efforts for Jolt, having spent nothing on measured media for the brand in 2009 and just $11,000 in 2008 (on the beverage and on the gum).
