For Haiti
Annie Lennox|A Thousand Beautiful Things
Sessions @ AOL
Of reasons why I still believe they do exist
(a thousand beautiful things)
And even though it's hard to see
The glass is full and not half empty
(a thousand beautiful things)
So... light me up like the sun
To cool down with your rain
I never want to close my eyes again
Never close my eyes
Never close my eyes
I thank you for the air to breathe
The heart to beat
The eyes to see again
(a thousand beautiful things)
And all the things that's been and done
The battle's won
The good and bad in everyone
(this is mine to remember)
So ...
Here I go again
Singin' by your window
Pickin' up the pieces of what's left to find
The world was meant for you and me
To figure out our destiny
(a thousand beautiful things)
To live
To die
To breathe
To sleep
To try to make your life complete
(yes yes)
So ...
Light me up like the sun
To cool down with your rain
I never want to close my eyes again
Never close my eyes
never close my eyes ...
That is everything I have to say
(that's all I have to say)

Annie Lennox|Why @ Live 8
That I'm sorry for the things I've done
But when I start to try to tell you
That's when you have to tell me
Hey, this kind of trouble's only just begun
I tell myself too many times
Why don't you ever learn to keep your big mouth shut
That's why it hurts so bad to hear the words
That keep on falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Tell me...
Why
Why
I may be mad
I may be blind
I may be viciously unkind
But I can still read what you're thinking
And I've heard it said too many times
That you'd be better off
Besides...
Why can't you see this boat is sinking
Let's go down to the water's edge
And we can cast away those doubts
Some things are better left unsaid
But they still turn me inside out
Turning inside out turning inside out
Tell me...
Why
Tell me...
Why
This is the book I never read
These are the words I never said
This is the path I'll never tread
These are the dreams I'll dream instead
This is the joy that's seldom spread
These are the tears...
The tears we shed
This is the fear
This is the dread
These are the contents of my head
And these are the years that we have spent
And this is what they represent
And this is how I feel
Do you know how I feel?
'Cause I don't think you know how I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
You don't know what I feel

Annie Lennox|Dark Road
And a dark way that leads to my house
And the word says
You're never gonna find me there oh no
I've got an open door
It didn't get there by itself
It didn't get there by itself
There's a feelin
But you're not feelin' it at all
There's a meaning
But you're not listening any more
I look at that open road
I'm gonna walk there by myself
And if you catch me
I might try to run away
You know I can't be here too long
And if you let me
I might try to make you stay
Seems you never realise a good thing
Till it's gone..
Maybe im still searchin
But I dont know what it means
All the fires of destruction are still
Burnin' in my dreams
There's no water that can wash away
This longin' to come clean
Hey yea yea....
I cant find the joy within my soul
It's just sadness takin hold
I wanna come in from the cold
And make myself renewed again
It takes strength to live this way
The same old madness every day
I wanna kick these blues away
I wanna learn to live again...
It's a dark road
And a dark way that leads to my house
And the word says
You're never gonna find me there oh no
I've got an open door
It didn't get there by itself
It didn't get there by itself

An open letter to Steve Jobs re: Haiti
How much did it cost you to get your kidney?
Was medical help readily available?
What if someone gave you the wrong meds?
The wrong dosage?
What if you didn't get help at all?
I guess if we want real money,
SHAME. SHAME. SHAME.

George Michael|Praying for Time
They will not be the last
Look around now
These are the days of the beggars and the choosers
This is the year of the hungry man
Whose place is in the past
Hand in hand with ignorance
And legitimate excuses
The rich declare themselves poor
And most of us are not sure
If we have too much
But we'll take our chances
'Cause God's stopped keeping score
I guess somewhere along the way
He must have let us all out to play
Turned his back and all God's children
Crept out the back door
And it's hard to love, there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope
When there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much, much too late
Well maybe we should all be praying for time
These are the days of the empty hand
Oh you hold on to what you can
And charity is a coat you wear twice a year
This is the year of the guilty man
Your television takes a stand
And you find that what was over there is over here
So you scream from behind your door
Say what's mine is mine and not yours
I may have too much but I'll take my chances
'Cause God's stopped keeping score
And you cling to the things they sold you
Did you cover your eyes when they told you
That he can't come back
'Cause he has no children to come back for
It's hard to love there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope when there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much too late
So maybe we should all be praying for time

Gay or not.
Out or not.
This guy's got clout, and deserves, and EARNS his moments out of the spotlight, when he chooses to step away.
Let him at least order a drink in whatever bar he chooses to patronize.
In peace.
Let him be a role model as he is.
There's no moment greater than this one here.

We Could Be Heroes|Dr Sanjay Gupta_CNN

First, Dr Gupta reports from every corner of the world.
But to be yanked from the field by the US Military to perform brain surgery on a young Haitian girl who would have died otherwise...
It's as if a medical lamb in a den of wolves.
A true hero, indeed.

Madonna's STICKY Situation!
She wants "us" to help Haiti.

The Confesstions Tour (2006) tickets were completely sold as soon as dates and venues for the concert were announced, prompting the organizers to add more dates. After its ending, the Confessions Tour was dubbed as the highest grossing tour ever for a female artist, grossing over US$194.7 million from 60 shows and 1.2 million audience.
This is what $603,000,000 looks like, in numbers, which is the combined gross from Madonna's last two outings.
Brad and Angelina ponied up $1,000,000 within hours of the Haitian earthquakes announcement, and I'm sure they'll do much more work behind the scenes. They didn't, however, send out an email to "their fans" cautioning them to "not sit idly by" as this tragedy continues to unfold exponentially.
10% of Madonna's income from her touring schedules from 2006 - 2009 adds up to a hefty $63,000,000.
She wouldn't feel the "loss" of that money like she wouldn't feel a d*ck up her *ss.
It's about time 'slebs started putting our moneys where their website mouths are.
Not that I didn't send a few bucks to DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS.
But really – why do people have to be reminded at all?

On another note, I saw a man (forget it if you want me to nail his race) near a mall on Sunday, with a cardboard sign the size of a refrigerator box.
HOMELESS AND HUNGRY. I'D RATHER BEG THAN STEAL.
I was super-glad to see he had a back-up plan.

CNN's SHIT List
Rick "The List" Sanchez

Aye dios mio!
Fotos del dia?
Fuck you pal.
No one asked for my passport when I tuned into CNN. How about "the photos of the day" with no "bailar" intro music. Besides, you're not a journalist. You're a ringleader of MySpace, Twitter, Facebook and all the rest of 'em.
Just because you involve the nation in a conversation, doesn't mean you are going to get any cohesive thoughts going on.
Go back to Coooooo-bah.
