Entries found for hero.

he·ro P Pronunciation Key (hîr)

n. pl. he·roes
In mythology and legend, a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods.

A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life: soldiers and nurses who were heroes in an unpopular war.

Motivation

I certainly can't say it any better than this:

Emptiness is a symptom that you are not living creatively. You either have no goal that is important enough to you, or you are not using your talents and efforts in a striving toward an important goal.

The Living End

On my radar.
Luckily, I was able to score the DVD on eBay for under $4, under $10, with shipping. Strange, considering Amazon's prices are upwards of $45 and then some. Someone borrowed my VHS copie (EV, you know who you are!) and "promised" to return it so many times, I'm still laughing. He's HIV+ so he can deal with the kharma, which, I know, is a terrible thing to say.

If you haven't seen this movie, you really have to.
Suspend belief, as it's pretty hard to take. It's a cross between David Lynch and John Waters, with a bit of Rod Serling thrown in. You get the picture.

Texas|What About Us?

What About Us?

He came home late from his work one day
Said he wanted some time alone
What about you, what about me, what about love
I knew I couldn’t take this love heartache
I knew I couldn’t stand it alone
What about you, what about me, what about us

Oh I know I’m special inside
And oh I gave you all of my life
And here we go

I’ve seen it before
When I just needed more
Than your touch
Here we go
You’re not a million miles
You’re not a million miles from me

He came home late from his work one day
Said he wanted some time alone
What about you, what about me, what about love
He came home late and apparantly
He was someone else when he got home
What about you, what about me, what about us

Aaah I know I’m special inside
And how I gave you all of my life
And here we go

And here we go

Pick a number. Any number.

I'm picking 296.x - 296.xx, or some variation on the theme.
And they call me crazy?
The longer I stick around,
the saner I seem to be.
Better still: the saner I am.

I feel you,
the sun it shines.
I feel you,
within my mind.

New Equipment at Work

Seems we can't afford the little stuff,
likea printer for the Mac lab,
but we can afford the really important stuff,
as posted below.
